Membership – NAVHDA Toronto

Who Is Membership For?

Membership with NAVHDA Toronto is for anyone interested in training, testing, and hunting with versatile hunting dogs.

You do not need:

  • A finished dog
  • Prior NAVHDA experience
  • Previous testing or hunting background

Beginners, young dogs, and first-time handlers are welcome.


What Does Membership Include?

As a NAVHDA Toronto member, you gain access to:

  • Organized training days
  • Eligibility to enter NAVHDA tests hosted by the Toronto chapter
  • Education, mentorship, and shared knowledge
  • Chapter communications, updates, and announcements
  • A supportive local community of handlers and dogs

Chapter dues help cover birds, training grounds, judges, equipment, and chapter operations.


Is Membership Required?

Yes. To participate in NAVHDA Toronto activities, both of the following are required:

  • Active membership with NAVHDA International
  • Active membership with the NAVHDA Toronto chapter

Both memberships must be current and paid in full to:

  • Attend training days
  • Enter NAVHDA tests hosted by NAVHDA Toronto

Dogs must also be registered with NAVHDA International.


Membership Term

NAVHDA Toronto memberships run on an annual basis.

  • Membership period: October 1 to September 30
  • This represents a full 12-month membership term
  • Membership must be renewed each year to remain active

Members who join partway through the year receive membership coverage through September 30 of the current membership cycle.


Membership Dues

NAVHDA Toronto Chapter Dues

  • $50 per individual member
  • Add $25 for a spouse

Chapter dues support local training days, birds, grounds, testing, and chapter operations.

Chapter dues are required in addition to NAVHDA International membership dues.


How to Join NAVHDA Toronto (Important – Read This)

Membership with NAVHDA Toronto requires two separate steps.

Step 1: Join NAVHDA International

All members must first register with NAVHDA International.

  • Complete the NAVHDA International membership application
  • Register your dog (if applicable)
  • Select NAVHDA Toronto as your local chapter

Step 2: Apply for NAVHDA Toronto Chapter Membership

In addition to the international membership, all members must complete the NAVHDA Toronto Chapter application.

  • Complete the NAVHDA Toronto Membership Application Form
  • Submit payment for chapter dues by email transfer (e-transfer)

Chapter dues must be paid by e-transfer.
Payment instructions will be provided on the application form.

Membership is not considered active until:

  • The chapter application is received and
  • Chapter dues are paid in full

Important Notes

  • Membership and chapter dues must be paid in full before participating in training days or tests
  • Test entries will not be accepted without active membership
  • There is no requirement to test immediately after joining

Most members join to learn and train at their own pace.
